  1. Embellish a small notebook to create a special place to write your thoughts, use as a prayer journal, or a place to write names and addresses of women you meet this weekend.
  2. See how to decorate sweet treats to add a special touch to celebrations. You will then turn a simple bag of microwave popcorn into a greeting card that gets rave reviews.
  3. Remember scratch & sniff stickers? How do you make those? We will make our own version of a scratch & sniff sticker to embellish a card that will delight anyone celebrating a birthday.

SEMINARS

"Expanding Your Floral Dollars"
Bernie Markevitch is a professional floral designer who uses the liturgical colors and what is naturally available, as well as using silk flowers to make his floral arrangements. His presentations at our Lady of Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan for Christmas and Easter, as well as most Sundays and some weddings, enhance the natural beauty of that church. Bernie believes that God has given him these gifts of creating magnificent arrangements and that he does his decorating for the glory of God.

Bernie MarkevitchBernie grew up in Sheboygan and while in high school worked for a local florist, Don Caan, who recognized Bernie’s gift of using color and taught him all the basics of handling and displaying flowers. Later Bernie designed display windows and interior displays for local department stores before leaving Sheboygan for Chicago, Atlanta and San Antonio, TX where he designed parade floats. He returned to Sheboygan 28 years ago to work for Community Players and eventually joined Grace Walsingham Episcopal Church. At Grace he currently does all the floral decorating, sings in the choir, prepares meals and uses the many other gifts God has given him.

"Quiet Time in your Daily Routine."
Do you wash your face everyday? Would you like to learn how to turn this every day event into Quiet Time with God? Shannon Walter, a Mary Kay Sales Director, mother of four small children, and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Neenah, will be sharing how the Lord gave her verses from Scripture to go along with the daily washing of your face of cleansing, restoring, protecting, etc. In our hectic lives, it is important to find and take advantage of even the smallest opportunities to be blessed by the Holy Spirit. Shannon will have products for you to try or you are welcome to use your own skin care products. It's not the product that's important, but rather, your time with Jesus. Take this time to learn how to transform an every day event into every day time with your Creator God.

Shannon WalterShannon Walter is a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, a mother to four beautiful children: John - 11, Mark & Noah - both 9, and Molly - 7, and wife to Aran Walter, Youth Pastor at St Thomas Church in Menasha, WI. With her busy life Shannon has struggled to find time during the day to have quiet time with the Lord; then one night God woke her up and showed her a way to turn the routine events of the day into spiritual practices. Soon, there were verses from Scripture to go along with things like washing her face, applying foundation, etc. As Shannon has discovered, everything in this world is God's (because He made it) and therefore, everything is spiritual, even (or perhaps "especially") the daily routine events in life.

"Healing Women's Hearts"
Many women carry in their hearts wounds from personal experiences that seem to always be with them. "A Crisis of Faith"
Domestic violence is on the rise and it affects the very foundation of families and of our communities. Survivors forever carry emotional and, in some cases, physical scars from abuse. It takes a toll on the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the victims and their loved ones. For many, in addition to the multifaceted crisis wrought by violence in the family, there is also a crisis of faith. Consistency is important in response to victims and abusers of domestic violence. The victim needs consistent support and advocacy from all the resource people she/he encounters and the perpetrator of the abuse needs to be held accountable by all the resource people that he/she encounters. Come and learn what women of faith can do about Domestic Violence. Kathy Flores is the community education coordinator outreach advocate from the Harbor House domestic abuse programs and she is working with the Faith Committee to present Fox Valley Faith Leaders information on how to spot Domestic Violence within their premarital counseling sessions. Kathy will share some of her experiences with domestic violence and help us as women of faith to help these women in need.

Kathy FloresKathy has been the Community Education & Outreach Advocate for Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs since 2002. Before working with Harbor House, Kathy worked at Kimberly-Clark Corporation helping develop their diversity initiatives and programs and then as the interim Program Director of the Harmony Café Program of Goodwill Industries. Kathy has taken an active role in the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WCADV) and represented Harbor House and WCADV in facilitating state training on the following topics: Providing Inclusive Services for LGBT Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Assaults; Working with and Understanding Women Who Use Force; and Working with Women with Mental Illness & Trauma, and D.V. 101. Kathy recently co-facilitated training for the Department of Justice on Strangulation Injuries, Stalking and an Effective Coordinated Community Response Team. Kathy serves on WCADV’s Health Care Taskforce and the Education Committee. At Harbor House, she serves on the Faith, Health Care, Public Relations, Domestic Violence Intervention, and the Domestic Abuse Response Committees.
